This is such a unique store. Went and got some coffee for my grandpa the 2 men in the coffee department helped me on 2 flavors. Now the tea room omg and the black lady was such a joy! Full of knowledge and enlightenment! Got me a bunch of stuff to take back to Texas! Such a great store full of goodies and great hospitality (blue mango butterfly tea is one my favorite)

This was a last minute stop and I'm SO glad I'm did! The Spice Merchant in Wichita, Kansas has coffee, tea, spices, and so much more! You will be pleasantly surprised if you like tea/coffee and all the fun accessories that go with it! They have teapots, tea infusers, coffee grinders, tea storage solutions, fancy spoons, teacups with saucers - you name it they've got it! I am so excited to try all the new varieties of tea that I picked up and was thrilled to learn that they ship almost anywhere so if I like something I'll be able to get it back in Colorado. It's a little bit hectic in there but overall definitely worth a visit if you want to pick up some unforgettable tea coffee or spices.

I absolutely love coming into this store, especially if I am having a difficult day. As soon as I enter the building I am greeted with a host of lovely aromas. My stress levels go down immediately (and that’s before I buy some lovely teas or tasty spices). Wichita is lucky to have such a place as this.

Pearl of Fruits

This is the best fruit-and-black tea that I have had yet. When you open the bag you are greeted with a nicely aromatic tea; when brewed it has both pleasant mildly fruity flavor in combination with the grounding flavor of the black tea.

Lady of London

This blended green and black has a nice mellow taste that is more refreshing than stimulating. This is a great tea for sipping through the morning into the early afternoon.

Eleonore Aarsen

We live in another state but like to order tea and spices from here, and it's always such a lovely experience. The teas are very high quality, as are the fresh spices (I'm a snob, take my word for it).
Also, it's a wonderful experience to receive the package, with a personal note every time! The staff really give your order personalized attention.

We can't believe we have lived in the Wichita area for over 6 years now, and visited the Spice Merchant twice per year but never bought coffee from them. We were missing out. We recently started buying coffee there and OMG it's so good! The guys who run the coffee area are exceptional customer service pros. They also really know their coffee. Their flavor offerings are off the chart. You even get a punch card for a free pound after 10 purchases. They are reasonably priced but oh so worth it. We always loved everything else about them even their tea room. We aren't tea people but have brought out of town guests who are, and they still rave about how awesome their tea room is. Anytime they speak about another visit, they now always talk about having to go to The Spice Merchant. Not every place is perfect as their location prevents any handicapped parking close to their entrance and it's a bit cramped inside especially when they are busy. However, for what you can get, and for the customer care that they provide, it's well worth the trip.

This place used to overwhelm me but it’s a GOOD overwhelm. I would highly recommend going in knowing what you’re looking for (or at least a good idea). I love love love their tea selections. They have affordable and great teas. I wish they had more herbs but I won’t complain because they provided me with a list of other local herbal shops as well.

This is a true gem of Wichita, right at the corner of Douglas and Cleveland. The Spice Merchant will mesmerize you with the smell of fresh coffee and spices once you step inside. The selection here is outstanding with a plethora of different coffee flavors, that can be purchased whole or ground, served by their friendly staff. The variety of spices is equally impressive and can be purchased in simple one ounce bags that make picking up multiple needs for any recipe a game changing convenience. Then there is a classic room dedicated entirely to tea, and the the rest of the store is loaded with racks of sauces, kitchen utensils, and awesome gifts. There is so much more to this fine business that it deserves to be checked out multiple times by all of Wichita residents and visitors.
